In my ancient past, I used to make polymer clay jewellery as a hobby and now and then I would create a little sculpture from air dry clay. Due to my idea of a mystical creature sculpture for the final exhibition, I had to awaken the dormant skills of working with this material.
In the first hour of the workshop we learnt how to cast a mould. Everything was happening so fast, that I barely remember what were we doing in there. I'll have to go back to the studio room to practice again. The second part consisted from making a pot, which also felt to be done in a rush, as we were running out of time. The clay was very soft, which made it almost difficult to work with.
I wanted to make a pot with a face and focused so much on the nose, that I ran out of time to make the rest of the face look humanly, so I just punched two holes instead of eyes and one instead of the mouth. Ended up looking like a creep-pot! Lovely )))
My inner Critic wasn't very pleased, but hey-ho! As I said, here to learn.
